Director of Structural Engineering

Director of Structural Engineering

Vantem – Remote

The Director of Structural Engineering collaborates with Research & Development, Design, Manufacturing, and Site Construction teams from project conception to closeout. This role leads the Structural Engineering team, ensuring the delivery of comprehensive engineering documentation and services for Vantem’s commercial and residential projects while driving innovation in modular construction.

Vantem’s Commercial Manufacturing Group focuses on large-scale, repeatable modular projects, refining standardized apartment unit plans for three- and four-story buildings. In contrast, the Single-Family Manufacturing Group specializes in one-of-a-kind custom home designs. This role supports both divisions by ensuring structural integrity, efficiency, and engineering excellence.

In commercial projects, this role is responsible for creating full construction documents for entire buildings, ensuring seamless coordination between design, permitting, and manufacturing. In single-family projects, the focus is on overseeing the engineering process, optimizing workflows, and improving efficiency while ensuring structural compliance. For both groups, this role will certify structural drawings and calculations and act as the Engineer of Record on most projects.

The long-term vision for this role is to build and lead a dynamic engineering team capable of designing, engineering, certifying, and serving as the in-house engineering authority for projects leaving both facilities. This requires deep expertise in modular construction methods, structural design, and project coordination.
